Signaling vs stimulus
I love this video by Dr Doug Mcguff, the author of the game changing book, Body by Science.
Dr Mcguff is an ER Doctor and High Intensity Training (HIT) specialist.
In this video he discusses the importance of the correct attitude when performing High Intensity work sets.
It’s vitally important to recognise that the whole point of these sets is to reach that point of failure.
It is not something to be scared of or shy away from.
Your goal is to chase or hunt it down to extract every ounce of effort from your muscles during each set.
Total focus from start to finish.
No giving in.
Similar to what I talked about in my article “Get Your HIT” – you don’t want to send your body signals of weakness, that you’re capitulating.
Stay aggressive, stay strong and welcome failure – it’s one of the few times in our lives we’re allowed to embrace failing.
It’s a liberating feeling.
