Working in the NHS I see the gaps we have in managing overweight, stressed, fatigued patients and I find it frustrating on a daily basis, not least because it is not a medical problem, it is not a disease – it is the cause of disease.
In the NHS, we work within the confines of an inadequate system, one whose resources are orientated to “sick care”, meaning there is little left for “health care” and prevention.
The majority of people do not realise the extent to which their lifestyle and looking after their bodies impacts on more than just obvious physical appearance – good mood, increased capacity for life, personal growth and professional advancement are all things I have seen improve with making supported lifestyle changes.
This is where professional personal training comes in to its own – it can work to provide the education, care and support to those who can’t necessarily get it elsewhere.
Arete helps people change their lives, substantially and sustainably by offering a different lifestyle model which takes the whole person into account – physically, emotionally and circumstantially.
This is why I became a Health Advisor for Arete. I want to help as many people as I can suffering from obesity-related ill health and help them create the kind of healthy body and lifestyle they deserve.
Achieving this goal will make me feel that I have made the kind of difference I want to make as a clinician.
On a more personal note, I joined my brother Andrew and the guys because of my belief in his knowledge and his vision, inspiring me to become part of something bigger.
Join my online academy and I will lead you through my complete approach, helping you get the body you want at a fraction of the cost of 1 to 1 personal training
This is where you can come and work with me as your personal trainer in Glasgow. I will guide you step by step to help you transform your body once and for all.
